Pam BuckleyMember of Stewardship Team and helper with special events Lutherfest, Punahou parking, the annual Seder Meal pam.buckley@lchwelcome.orgMy idea of a perfect day is... enjoying a picnic or potluck with family and friends. My life verse is... “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8: 38–39) My favorite Bible character is... Ruth—hard working and loyal. She must have been a dog (in the Chinese horoscope) also! I was born... in Watertown, South Dakota, and, yes, I am a farmer’s daughter and thankfully a farmer’s sister. The best advice I could give a 20 year old is... respect others, be responsible your shelf and your actions, cherish friends and family, and get a job! I stay at LCH because... here I am part of God’s family, for better or for worse, just as I am. LCH has been a place of sanctuary, a place to learn and explore ideas, a place to learn tolerance and acceptance. LCH welcomes me, nurtures me, challenges me. The fellowship, food, and fun are a bonus. Raised on a small dairy and grain farm in northeastern South Dakota. While the dairy part is gone, my brother has done a tremendous job of keeping the family farm(s). Visiting Camp Cow Pie for the Cow Patty Blast is still high on my list of vacation favorites. Met Brent in college, and moved to Nebraska (Go Big Red!) for four years, before moving to Hawaii in 1985. Eventually, I graduated from UH then went on to become a soccer mom. For years, I have been identified first as Austin’s Mom, then as Colin’s Mom. At LCH I have been involved with evangelism (Cookie ministry), Learning Ministry as a Sunday School teacher (Seder meal), and a youth leader (clown ministry and Punahou Parking), a council member, and most recently the “fun committee”—Stewardship (and Lutherfest).
