Donate to the Lutheran Church of Honolulu
The Lutheran Church of Honolulu (LCH) is profoundly grateful for the many generous individuals who have supported our ministry since 1900. This ongoing commitment allows us to live out our mission to be welcoming to all as we seek to be Christ’s community.
Both members and friends have asked for a simple method to make online contributions to the church. This page offers the opportunity to make an electronic one-time donation or a recurring donation (commitment or pledge) to the church. In addition to contributing to the general fund (which supports the entire mission of the congregation), contributions may be designated for specific purposes (described below).
All transactions are handled by PayPal on their secure website. Your credit card number will only be used on the PayPal secure site and will not be available to anyone at LCH. Both you and the LCH financial secretary will receive emails confirming the one-time or recurring donation with your name and address, the amount, and the fund. No information will be stored on our web server.
One-time donations may be made by credit/debit card or with a PayPal account. A PayPal account is required to set up the recurring donation, and if you do not already have a PayPal account, you will be prompted to create one during the setup process for your pledge. If you make a recurring donation, it will remain in effect until you change it with the Church Office or modify/cancel it in your PayPal account. Please make a note of the user name and password you use to make this pledge. You will need them to modify/cancel your recurring donation.
Contributions may be made to these funds:
- General Fund—This fund supports the budget developed by the Church Council and approved at the Annual Meeting to carry out the mission of the congregation. This includes daily operations of the congregation, staff salaries, charitable activities, and so on.
- Organ Renovation Fund—This fund makes possible a few carefully curated improvements to LCH’s Beckerath organ. The Beckerath Organ Renovations page provides more information about the renovations.
- Music Fund—This fund supports worship music and special music-centered worship services at the church throughout the year.
- Concert Fund—This fund supports the First Mondays Series, the Summer Jazz Journey, and other concerts throughout the year.
- Capital Improvements Fund—This fund supports development of the church campus. Gifts may be designated for specific projects.
