The Abendmusiken Series proudly welcomes organist Rodney Gehrke to Honolulu for a recital program on the church’s Beckerath tracker organ. The program, titled “A Church Year Survey,” showcases repertoire from the entire liturgical year including Distler’s Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, Bach’s Canonic Variations on ‘Vom Himmel hoch,’ and Duruflé’s Choral variations on ‘Veni Creator.’ The program also includes works by Buxtehude, Alain, Langlais, and Parry’s I was glad with the LCH Choir.
