Christ the King—November 26, 2023

No children’s conversation this Sunday

Thanksgiving—November 19, 2023

Preacher: Pastor Margethe Kleiber
Summary: You told me I was wrong when I suggested that Thanksgiving was in March or July, but every day is a day of thanksgiving. As Paul says, “Rejoice without ceasing.” We don’t eat turkey every day, but we are thankful every day.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 32—November 12, 2023

Preacher: Pastor Margethe Kleiber
Summary: When I covered us up, it was dark and we couldn’t see. Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world. When you were baptized, they gave you a candle like this on. That candle reminds us that we carry the light of Jesus and should let it shine brightly.

No children’s conversation this Sunday

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 27—October 8, 2023

Preacher: Pastor Margethe Kleiber
Summary: When you were two years old, maybe you didn’t want to eat what your parents gave you, but they probably didn’t give up on you. In today’s Gospel Jesus talks about tenants of a vineyard who tried over and over to collect the rent. God doesn’t give up on us either when we make bad choices.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 26—October 1, 2023

Preacher: Pastor Margethe Kleiber
Summary: Let’s stand up and play Simon Says. This game is a little like today’s Gospel where one son says he will do what his father asks but he doesn’t, and the other son says he won’t do it but he does. It’s important for us not just to say we trust God but to really believe.
