Last Sunday after Epiphany / Transfiguration of Our Lord—February 23, 2020
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: As we continue talking about the different parts of each worship service, we come to the Prayers. Praying is just talking with God. Of course, you can do that anytime, but in church we pray on behalf other others, and that’s called “Prayers of Intercession.” And at the end, we all say “Amen.”
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
Sixth Sunday after Epiphany / Faith and Arts Sunday—February 16, 2020
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: As we continue talking about the different parts of each worship service, we come to the Creed. “Creed” comes from the Latin word credo, which means “I believe.” We have three creeds: the shorter Apostles Creed, the longer Nicene Creed, and the much longer Athanasian Creed; but we can have other creeds from time to time. We say it together because it summarizes what we believe as a church.
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
Fifth Sunday after Epiphany—February 9, 2020
No children’s conversation today because all the children attended the early service.
Fourth Sunday after Epiphany / Reconciling in Christ Sunday—February 2, 2020
No children’s conversation today because all the children attended the early service.
Third Sunday after Epiphany—January 26, 2020
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: As we continue talking about the different parts of each worship service, we come to the psalm after the first scripture lesson. Psalms come from the Bible, and a psalm is also a song, so we will listen to the choir as they sing today’s psalm.
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
Second Sunday after Epiphany—January 19, 2020
No children’s conversation today because all the children attended the early service.
Baptism of Our Lord—January 12, 2020
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: As we continue talking about the different parts of each worship service, we come to the part of the service that we read from Holy Scripture. God’s Word comes to us through these readings. Although we won’t hear from all of scripture, we do get to hear a lot about God and God’s people.
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
The Epiphany of Our Lord (transferred)—January 5, 2020
No children’s conversation today because all the children attended the early service.
First Sunday of Christmas—December 29, 2019
Lessons and carols—no children’s conversation.
Christmas Day—December 25, 2019
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Come up here with me to see the manger scene. It shows the birth of Jesus in a barn or cave. This is a strange story because there are no important people around—just animals and later shepherds. Our savior comes into the world as a person in a simple place, and Jesus is still with us everyday.
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
Advent IV—December 22, 2019
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Here we have our Advent wreath with four candles for the four Sundays of Advent. When we light the fourth one in a few minutes, we know that Christmas is very near.

Advent III—December 15, 2019
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley and Scott Fikse, director of liturgy and music
Summary: We have talked about the prelude and confession, and today we learn about the introit. The choir sings the introit, which is another way to get ready for worship. We have words from the psalms and other parts of the Bible. Let’s listen to today’s introit.
We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
Advent II—December 8, 2019
No children’s conversation today because all the children attended the early service.
Advent I—December 1, 2019
Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Beginning this Sunday, the children’s conversation is going to happen at various places in the service so I can help the children understand what we do in worship. Today we’re going to look at the prelude, which happens before the service. Some people talk during the prelude and others pray or meditate. Watch what our organist does because he plays with both hands and his feet.
