New Signage for the LCH Campus
When we began the Capital Campaign, everyone was aware that the current exterior signs for our church were difficult to see and did not provide all the information newcomers need. This need was incorporated into the first phase of renovations, partly supported by a matching grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The Communication Committee, took up this challenge. After discussion, the committee asked Richard Reese of Richard Reese Designs to provide a professional assessment. Richard surveyed the LCH campus and developed recommendations for both external and internal signage. The committee agreed that the first priority was external signs that would help visitors identify the church and provide information about worship services.
Richard’s design uses the simple form of our church logo, along with information about regular worship services. Large signs were made for the entrance by the office and the preschool, with versions showing summer worship times. Smaller signs in matching designs were made for both parking lots.
These signs are only the first step towards improving our signage. Yet to come are new signs for the wall fronting Punahou Street and the interior parts of the campus.
