Fourth Sunday of Advent
Sunday, December 22, 2024
Daily Prayer is an ancient practice with many names. The services (offices) of Morning Prayer, Noon Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline (Night Prayer) weave psalms, Bible readings, and prayers that change from day to day and season to season into a regular pattern of worship. Read more about Daily Prayer.
This site provides the resources to say the offices (or services) of Daily Prayer for this day without referring to a prayer book, lectionary (or list of readings), and Bible. To say one of the offices, follow one of these links:
Morning Prayer | Evening Prayer |
Noon Prayer | Compline |
The offices follow the calendar and lectionary found in Evangelical Lutheran Worship, the hymnal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Read more about the ELW and its calendar and lectionary.
The texts of the individual offices come from The Book of Common Prayer, 1979, of The Episcopal Church. Read more about the BCP.
Scripture quotations from New Revised Standard Version of the Bible. Read more about the NRSV.
You can ensure that this site presents the offices for the correct day in your time zone and modify certain aspects of how the offices are presented to you.
