Eighth Annual Children’s Benefit Concert
The children of the LCH Sunday School began raising money for disadvantaged families around the world in 2005 when they worked with the entire congregation to raise $5,000 to purchase an Ark of Animals from Heifer International. The next year they presented their first benefit concert, which has been an LCH tradition ever since. Each year a concert of song, dance, instrumental performances, orations, and several surprises has been presented to the community. Since 2006, the Children’s Benefit Concerts have raised over $35,000 with the help of the LCH congregation and their entire Honolulu community. For the past seven years, the benefit concert has been a fundraiser for Heifer International. For 2013, the children will send funds to a new beneficiary, the ELCA’s Good Gifts program, which supports children and families through local, community-based partners in over 60 countries around the world.
Please join us as we showcase the individual talents of the children and the joint effort of the F.R.O.G.S. choir and consider making a donation that will change lives throughout the world. How Does it Work?Admission to the concert is free, but we ask individuals and families to consider pledging $1 a day during the season of Lent ($40 total). Pledges may be brought to the concert on March 2 or placed into the offering plate on any Sunday. Pledge cards will be available at the concert, any Sunday at church, or online (PDF). Pledges may be paid any time up until Easter Sunday, March 31. Just bring or send your check to the church (1730 Punahou Street, Honolulu, HI 96822). Please write “Benefit Concert” on the check memo line to make sure your donation is properly credited. Pledges may also be made via PayPal, but because of fees associated with PayPal payments, donations by check of cash are preferred. Questions or Additional Information?
